Dr Kanonier recalls his memorable EASA Experience

In November 2013 EASA had the real pleasure of welcoming Professor Arthur Kanonier from the Vienna University of Technology for a 2-week EASA Experience.  Dr Kanonier is a real golf enthusiast and so the fact that he could improve his English and play a lot of golf in and around St Andrews was a real selling point for him!

In his own words he writes “the individual and personal programme, in which EASA combined the various activities was excellent and the two weeks were used in an optimal way.”

Well, his experience couldn’t have got off to a better start!  On his first day, while playing a round with Denis at the famous Balcomie Links course in Crail (the 7th oldest golf club in the world) Dr Kanonier scored his very first Hole in One!

“To score a Hole in One in the home of golf during a round with excellent Scottish players is unbeatable and I will always remember this incredible day.”

As tradition says, he returned to the clubhouse after an incredible round and put a bottle of whisky behind the bar.  He also received a certificate from the club to mark his lifetime achievement.

Dr Kanonier came to us as part of his sabbatical from the Vienna University of Technology.  During his two weeks he really dedicated himself to making excellent progress with his Business English, and left feeling more confident and comfortable in communicating in English.

“The very intensive and tailor-made program improved my English presentation skills in a remarkable way, which are especially important for my university activities.”

Arthur – we salute you!  Congratulations again, and we hope to see you back at EASA again one day in the future!
